Special Issue on Traditional religious practice and Religious harmony
About the Journal: The Journal of Action and Light (JAL) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published annually by Action and Light, a research-based development organization in Bangladesh. Though multidisciplinary in scope, every volume of JAL focuses on specific topics. The current volume calls for manuscripts on traditional religious practice, rituals, challenges, cults, radicalization, religious militancy, and religious harmony and so on. The journal is inviting scholars, researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and development experts to submit their scholarly scientific manuscripts for its first volume. The interested scholars, researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and development experts are requested to mail their unpublished manuscripts to [email protected] by December 16, 2025.
General guidance for the authors
- The manuscript must not be published or submitted to publish in any journal.
- Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
- The language should be either English or Bangla.
- The manuscript written in English should be written in Times New Roman font, size 12. The manuscript written in Bangla should be written in Bijoy front with the front size 14. The line spacing should be 1.50. Every heading of the manuscript should be of size 14 and 16 consecutively for English and Bangla.
- The authors must send two files: a. title page, and b. manuscript.
- The title page will include authors’ personal information, e.g., names, designation, organization/institution and ORCID ID (if possible).
- The manuscript should contain an abstract, 3-5 key words, an introduction with objectives, a literature review, methodology, findings and results, discussion, a conclusion, a bibliography, a conflict of interests, and acknowledgements (if any). Writing personal identifiers such as names, affiliations, or countries in the manuscript is prohibited.
- The authors should follow the APA (6th edition) referencing style.
- The page limit for every manuscript is 6–12.
- The authors are to bear the publication fees. Every journal costs BDT 3500. However, authors from low- and middle-income countries can apply for weaver of publication fees.
Blind Review Process
- The editor will primarily receive all the manuscripts sent on time. However, manuscripts without the proper format, refencing style, and proposed topic will not be selected for further review.
- The manuscript selected in primary review will be sent to experienced reviewers for blind review. Based on manuscript quality, the reviewers can suggest major and minor corrections and request that the editor send them back to the authors to make corrections to the manuscripts.
- Manuscripts with proper corrections according to the reviewers’ suggestions will be rechecked by the editor. If it requires any corrections, the manuscript will be resent to the authors.
- Manuscripts that are finally corrected will be accepted for publication.
