On 8 March 2026 at 10:00 AM, a human chain programme was organized in Joypurhat town by Action and Light to observe International Women’s Day and raise awareness about women’s rights and gender equality.
Human rights activists, youth volunteers, women leaders, students, and members of civil society participated in the programme, forming a human chain in the town while displaying banners and placards calling for the protection of women’s rights and the prevention of violence against women.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of ensuring equal rights, dignity, and safety for women and girls. They also called for collective efforts from government institutions, civil society, and communities to strengthen gender equality and justice.
Through this initiative, Action and Light reaffirmed its commitment to promoting human rights and women’s empowerment at the community level.
